Cabinet organizes competition for climate millions
State Secretary Stientje van Veldhoven (environment) is allocating a total of 80 million euros to urgently implement the best climate ideas. Significant steps in making the Netherlands more sustainable can be taken relatively easily and quickly by using available technologies from technical companies in a smart, efficient manner.
The scheme implements agreements from the coalition agreement to encourage energy savings and the use of sustainable energy in the healthcare sector as well. In the coming years, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport will work together with the sector on reducing CO2 emissions, circular purchasing, reducing medicine residues in water and a health-promoting environment. Former healthcare administrator Cathy van Beek has been appointed as quartermaster for this purpose.
Call for projects to be submitted
We ask you if you can provide us with concrete, inspiring examples of technologies that you supply, with which CO2 reductions can be achieved through energy-saving measures and efficiency. These are certainly examples of directly applicable solutions and existing techniques that are not or have not yet been applied, but can be directly applied.
FHI members (already) have numerous ways to quickly succeed in the energy transition with relatively simple measures and existing technical products and services. We therefore believe it is very important that politicians gain more expertise with technology companies.
We would like to present the list of ideas that ensure sustainability in our country to the State Secretary and serve as a catalyst for a broader discussion about developing and enforcing legislation and regulations or earmarking budgets, so that concrete improvements take place.
State Secretary Stientje van Veldhoven already knows FHI well. The D66 politician already got a good idea of how technology can help achieve sustainability goals during a working visit to two FHI member companies two years ago.
We look forward to receiving your ideas and examples.
You can email your idea to marina@fhi.nl. If possible, in a maximum of 1 A4 sheet and provided with a substantiation of what concrete sustainability gains can be achieved.
NB: apart from this project to bring FHI member companies to the attention of the State Secretary with technologies that can achieve CO2 reductions through energy-saving measures and efficiency, FHI members can of course also apply for a subsidy themselves via the RVO website.
