Brief economic corona news from September 24

- Since Wednesday morning, the RIVM has received 2,544 confirmed reports of positive corona tests, two hundred more than the day before and the fourth daily increase in a row. The number of deaths is also increasing: the RIVM reports 16 people died.
- Après skiing will be banned in Austria next winter. Eating and drinking is only allowed while sitting in the catering industry. Face masks will also be mandatory in ski lifts, NOS reports.
- Edwin Boel, project leader of the National Diagnostic Chain Coordination Team (LCDK), says in a interview with NU.nl that they have been surprised by the rapidly increasing demand for corona tests. He thinks he will have solved the capacity problems in October.
- A number of Brabant catering companies voluntarily close their doors temporarily, writes the Brabants Dagblad. They say they are seeing a large increase in corona infections, especially among young people. Every week, entrepreneurs assess whether it is responsible to open again.
- A group of employers in Amsterdam have made agreements about spreading working hours and facilitating working from home as best as possible, reports the FD. This includes the municipality of Amsterdam, the province of North Holland, the Amsterdam Transport Region, law group Loyens & Loeff, ABN Amro and the Schiphol Group.
