• The RIVM reports 6996 new confirmed corona infections for Thursday, 650 fewer than Wednesday. Hospital admissions are also decreasing: a total of 2512 covid patients are in hospitals, 60 fewer than Wednesday.
  • The German economy is recovering from the effects of the corona crisis. In September, the order books of the industry grew while consumption also increased. Exports also grew, the German Ministry of Economic Affairs reports.
  • ING is cutting a thousand jobs worldwide. The international investment bank is being cut and ING is closing its offices in South America and Asia. The bank is also stopping a major software project. The cutbacks are the result of worsening results in the third quarter.
