New motion adopted on VSL by House of Representatives
On November 5, the House of Representatives adopted a motion by Eppo Bruins, Member of Parliament for the Christian Union, on the responsibility, roles and powers of the national metrology institute VSL. A subject that FHI is involved in 2018 and 2019 has also been working on this in the background.
The MP notes in the motion that the national metrology institute is of vital importance to the Dutch high-tech manufacturing industry and that it is therefore crucial to describe the relationship between government and market. This will enable the VSL to perform its social tasks at a high level in the future with the right quality values.
The motion therefore requests the government to record the roles, responsibilities and powers of all parties involved in VSL. This could include the role of, for example, the ministry and the council of experts.
The motion in question can be found on the website of the House of Representatives. The House will be informed about this process in the first half of 2021. We will inform you about this.
