MEAN WELL releases the new SPD-10S-277S, a series that is small in size and affordable, with safety marks and a constant maximum current output of 10 kA. The most important characteristics are the low measured limit voltage (MLV) and the voltage protection level (UP). This can drastically reduce the high peak voltage from lightning strikes to the luminaires, thereby extending the lifespan of the luminaires.
SPD-10S-277S Thermal Protected Surge Protector is self-protective and specifically designed to divert transient surges in outdoor commercial LED lighting. It is equipped with a thermally protected varistor and the built-in thermal disconnect function prevents catastrophic failure and fire hazards, even under extreme conditions. A built-in LED indicator shows when the module needs to be replaced.
