Studer Cables AG: Traditional company back in Swiss hands

The traditional cable manufacturer from Däniken (SO) has been back in Swiss hands since March 30, 2021 and is now operating on the market as Studer Cables AG (www.studercables.com).

A consortium of buyers led by the old and new CEO Bruno Fankhauser and Helvetica Capital (www.helvetica-capital.ch) has taken over the company from the German LEONI Group.

The new owners want to develop Studer Cables into It Swiss quality brand for halogen-free and flame-retardant safety cables.

These technologically advanced special cables from Däniken are mainly used in the rail industry and are increasingly also used in the production of electric vehicles.

In addition, they are frequently used in the cabling of solar power plants and large infrastructure projects, where the high-quality products have now become standard.

For example, Studer Cables supplied the cables for the power supply of the Gotthard rail tunnel, the longest rail tunnel in the world at 57 km.

When safety, durability and energy efficiency are decisive for electrical cabling and energy installations, Studer Cables products are the safe choice.

"Studer Cables is an internationally established top brand. In addition to first-class employees, the company has unique competences in the development and manufacture of high-quality plastics and the construction and production of special cables," CEO and co-owner Bruno Fankhauser is convinced.

In the future, it is planned to use the current highly specialized knowledge of plastics outside of pure cable production. Related projects are in the pipeline, more information will follow in the coming months.
