From the report 'My Smart Industry, Grow smarter, grow faster' by the Economic Bureau of ING shows that the technological industry is also a growth engine of the Dutch economy in the long term. However, to continue growing, more employees are needed and that is a sore point. An increase in added value by more than 4% per year until 2030 requires an estimated 50,000 additional employees. Add to that the approximately 70,000 employees who are retiring and the sector faces the challenge of attracting 120,000 people by 2030. FHI has been lobbying for years to counter the shortage of qualified technological personnel. Despite the fact that significant improvements have been achieved in recent years, the ING research also shows that the availability of qualified people is insufficient.
