That's all well and good, but how do you ensure that efficiency increases without compromising quality? Crafting for professionals<\/strong>
<\/em><\/a>Almost every engineer will still long for the tinkering afternoons where low-threshold electronics were designed. However, there is a lot involved for an engineer to tackle that same process as a professional. Think of the diversity in methodologies, tools, libraries and so on.<\/p>\r\n

How do you, as a product developer, ensure that you use your knowledge and tools optimally and at the same time develop products that make people happy? That is the subject that Michiel Wanninkhof of DeltaProto<\/a> will touch upon in his presentation. He will share his experiences and engage in a discussion with the audience about development methods and tools. The ultimate goal is to make the enjoyable design work as smooth a process as possible.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

\"\"Reliability of the library<\/a><\/strong>
<\/em><\/a>Many problems and errors in electronic design can be traced back to the CAD library during DFM analysis or after production. And of course, nothing is more annoying than discovering a costly error late in the development process! That is why Richard Prent of Novatrace<\/a> on the importance of a consistent and reliable design library. Richard takes the IPC standard as a starting point to then show how a good CAD library contributes to a higher product quality and optimization of the design process.<\/p>\r\n

\"\"Prototypes ready in no time<\/a><\/strong>
<\/em><\/a>A strong toolbox and solid PCB design are not enough. Once you have reached the point where a first PCB design is ready for prototype production, it is more than desirable to have a prototype on your desk as soon as possible. But what does such a prototype production look like and more importantly... how does the PCB get to you as quickly as possible?<\/p>\r\n

These are questions that Christof Vercouter asks on behalf of Eurocircuits<\/a> covered in his presentation. Christof gives a look behind the scenes of their production plant and discusses the critical factors of a fast production process.<\/p>\r\n

\"\"Testing, testing, testing!\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>
<\/em><\/a>It cannot be said often enough, ensure good testability of the PCB throughout the entire development process. After all, how can you guarantee that the design actually meets the desired result? Here too, the time-to-market can be drastically extended if problems come to light later in the design process.<\/p>\r\n

During the production of electronics it is important, for a cost-efficient and qualitative end product, that there is inspection between each production and assembly step in the process. Peter van Oostrom tells in his lecture on behalf of Romex<\/a> how each design step can be provided with the right inspections. All with the aim of detecting and preventing costly errors.<\/p>\r\n
