It was pleasantly busy at the EMC-ESD event, on November 21st in the Van der Valk Hotel in Vianen. With 155 visitors the halls were well filled and there was a lot of networking. New this year were the demos on the stands. Visitors could live<\/em> see how EMC measurements are done and what equipment is available for this. Both exhibitors and visitors appreciated this setup. The strong substantive program was also appreciated.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

<\/p>\r\n

The program focused on the latest developments and trends in electromagnetic compatibility and electrostatic discharge within the electronics industry. A wide range of topics were discussed, ranging from technological innovations to practical solutions for common challenges within the field. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n

New technologies
<\/strong>Wenli Shi from TU Delft opened the event with an overview lecture on the state of affairs regarding EMC and ESD. He discussed the influence of new technologies and materials on EMC\/ESD prevention. WPT technology can be very efficient EV charging<\/em> provided that special safety requirements are met, Shi said. He also spoke about the importance of a holistic approach when designing electronic systems. To successfully tackle challenges, close cooperation between different disciplines and stakeholders is necessary.<\/p>\r\n

Accurate measurement
<\/strong>After the plenary lecture by Wenli Shi, the group split up in two, with interested parties being able to choose from nine presentations spread over the day. Many lectures required chairs to be moved, which shows how much the topics were alive among the audience. Tom Hartman from the University of Twente and Helko van den Brom from VSL closed the day. They talked about the often complex challenges involved in measuring static electricity, especially in relation to EMC and ESD.<\/p>\r\n

Accurate measurement of static electricity is essential for the electronics industry, as it has a major impact on the reliability of electronic systems. Hartman and Van den Brom discussed methods to ensure reliable and accurate measurements in various environments and under various conditions during their presentation. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

To collaborate
<\/strong>This year, too, an important part of the event was the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals. Visitors were given ample opportunity to make new contacts and build relationships with people who are active in the same field. There was also attention for cooperation with the staff of the future. The demos and poster presentations were given by educational institutions, so that students and potential employees could already get to know each other informally.<\/p>\r\n

The EMC-ESD event was an inspiring day! We thank the exhibitors, presenters and visitors for their presence and valuable contribution.<\/p>\r\n
