TDK Corporation introduces two new models in the 5 kW TDK-Lambda GENESYS+\u2122 series of high power density programmable DC power supplies. This extension allows engineers to almost seamlessly select an output voltage and current in small steps in the range from 0-10 V\/500 A to 0-1500 V\/3.4 A.<\/p>\r\n

The two new models offer 0-1000 V\/0-5 A and 0-1500 V\/0-3.4 A programmable outputs. They can be specified for three-phase 170 to 265 VAC inputs or wide range 342 to 528 VAC inputs, with active PFC (power factor correction). The power supplies can operate at constant current, constant voltage or limited constant power.<\/p>\r\n

With a width of 423 mm, a depth of 486.5 mm and a height of 43.6 mm (1U), the GENESYS+\u2122 5 kW is suitable for zero stack rack mounting. The cooling is provided by fans, which adjust the speed based on the ambient temperature and the output load.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

All models in the GENESYS+\u2122 series feature a high-contrast, wide-viewing-angle LCD display, with user-adjustable brightness and dimming functions, faster response times for up and down programming, and user-adjustable voltage and current slew rate control. Test profiles of arbitrary waveforms of up to 100 steps can be generated and stored in four memory cells. These can be activated via the communications ports or the front panel controls.<\/p>\r\n

For additional power, the 5 kW power supplies utilize TDK-Lambda's advanced parallel system, which allows multiple units to be connected, with dynamic load response and ripple and noise characteristics comparable to those of a single power supply. Up to 12 GENESYS+\u2122 power supplies can be connected in parallel very easily by connecting a single data link cable between the units and connecting the DC outputs. The control and auxiliary units configure themselves automatically by detecting the parallel data connection and setting their parameters accordingly.<\/p>\r\n

All 1 kW to 60 kW models of the GENESYS+\u2122 series are programmed in the same way. This can be done as standard using the control buttons on the front panel, remotely via LAN (LXI 1.5), USB 2.0 and RS232\/485 or via the isolated analogue control and monitoring interface (0-5 V, 0-10 V). Optional interfaces include EtherCAT, Modbus-TCP and GPIB (IEEE488.2). The software package includes software drivers, a waveform generator and a virtual GUl for the front panel. Safety is ensured by standard features such as Safe\/Auto Re-Start and Last Setting Memory, as well as various built-in protection functions. To prevent unauthorized changes to the device settings, there is an option with a front panel without a display.<\/p>\r\n

The power supplies have a warranty period of five years. They are certified to IEC\/EN\/UL\/CSA 61010-1 and are CE and UKCA marked for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
