sufficient space for a pipetting robot led to the flow cabinets from Nordic Labtech.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/polytemp.nl\/producten\/laf-kasten\/persoonsbescherming-klasse-2a2b\/n-safe-xl-klasse-2a2b-microbiologisch-veiligheidskabinet-extra-ruime-uitvoering-1800mm\">n-Safe XL<\/a>\u00a0In addition to the high safety standard and ease of use, this design has a &#039;major advantage&#039;, namely: the spacious work surface.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Robot as assistant<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p>The presence of an \u201cassist\u201d is particularly useful for screens of larger badges. While the robot is working and performing repetitive tasks, the person has hands and eyes free to monitor the process and ensure it runs smoothly. In addition, this also relieves the employee ergonomically. \u201cThe robot does not fit in a safety cabinet of regular size. So we went looking for a model with sufficient space,\u201d says chief analyst Jessika Zevenhoven-Dobbe.<\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\u201cWe really need the workspace in the cabinet as you can see. The airflow still has enough space this way.\u201d<\/blockquote>\r\n<h4><strong>Safety and sufficient space<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p><strong><br \/><\/strong>To show what the n-Safe XL can do in practice, Jessika places the items in the cabinet. &#039;&#039;We really need the workspace in the cabinet as you can see. The height and depth are perfect for this application. There is a centrifuge, robot and waste bin in the cabinet and it does not look full.&#039;&#039; This also makes it safe, as the airflow is given sufficient space in this way. The windows on both sides make it a very bright workspace, which is very pleasant. The UV lamp on the back wall also ensures good disinfection from above.<\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Experiments with viruses<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<p><strong><br \/><\/strong>&#039;&#039;We grow viruses here, among other things, but also test the effect of antiviral agents on these viruses. Collaborations are often processes of trial and error, which means that the throughput of numbers is sometimes high. With this cabinet we are flexible, ideal for our format of research. It is a nice solution between manual processing and full automation.
