How enthusiastic and satisfied we look back on our FHI HRM Current Affairs Seminar! Last November 10, some 45 HR professionals from FHI members came together in Leusden to hear and talk about the developments in their field. And in the current labor market, there are quite a few! From rewards, cafeteria models to measuring HR topics and inclusivity.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The day started, as is tradition, with developments in employment law. Lise van den Heuvel and Michiel van Haelst of FHI Advies took the participants on a journey of fascinating stories about how to deal with #MeToo and what employment law might look like from 2025 onwards.<\/p>\r\n

At #MeToo, careful action and following one's own protocols is crucial. The 2025 Code of Work provides an image of how it could be easier for all workers in a 'work hub' with dismissal protection, continued payment of wages in case of illness and a focus on development.<\/p>\r\n

After the lunch break, two parallel sessions will start. Geke Schuiteman discussed how a modern remuneration policy contributes to your distinctiveness. The topics discussed were developments in the labour market, the response to a tight labour market (including poaching staff from each other, a huge increase in individual salaries without policy, signing and retention bonuses), the changing wishes of employees, modern HR\/agile HR, modern remuneration (skill or role based pay) and the individualisation of secondary employment conditions, during which sustainable alternatives and the importance of a good salary policy were also discussed. The reactions showed that these topics could be discussed for an entire afternoon! FHI is looking into whether it can organise this for the FHI members, together with Geke.<\/p>\r\n

\"\"Sandra Engelbertink provided the other parallel session on measuring HR themes. Central to her story was that as HR you always measure, but do you also know what you are measuring for? And how you can link HR measurements to organizational objectives. By dealing flexibly with HR analytics, in line with your organization, the result is greater and the effort less. Clear communication to your employees about what you are going to do with the results plays an important role in effective HR measurements. \u00a0<\/p>\r\n

Plenty of food for thought and time for a short break, after which it was time for two new parallel sessions. From FHI partner Klap Insurance Broker, Misja van Breenen took the group through the developments surrounding the new pension system. This immediately raised quite a few questions, especially when it came to the consequences of the choices you make as an employer. What are the costs involved and what does this mean for your (current and new) employees? Really still an important item to pay attention to in 2023, possibly get information and make choices! \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

The story of Lucia Veenstra of Crop Accountants & Adviseurs could actually have been told even longer. This fascinating and current theme of flexible and fiscally attractive remuneration is a subject that affects every company. Lucia explained what you as an employer can do to retain your employees (such as signing fees, stay bonus, repaying student debt, working from home, climate budget, etc.), but also what impact this has on employer costs. Lucia introduced those present to the WKR system and how you can reward tax-friendly within the WKR by using targeted exemptions, zero or lower valuations, freely filling in the free space, or a personnel fund. The cafeteria scheme and the individual choice budget were discussed as well as the impact of exchange.<\/p>\r\n

In addition, the tax consequences of a number of secondary employment conditions were highlighted, such as bicycle scheme, home working allowance, gym membership, climate budget (solar panels, heat pump), energy allowance, staff loan, etc.<\/p>\r\n

Finally, the changes in payroll taxes based on the 2023 Tax Plan were listed and the CO2 measurement obligation for employers was briefly touched upon.<\/p>\r\n

The last plenary speaker, Martine Schuijer from the Netherlands undertakes inclusively! (MKB-Nederland\/VNO-NCW), started a little later than planned.<\/p>\r\n

Martine introduced the attendees to the recruitment options: open hiring, innovative matching methods (such as a video pitch, (online) job market, meet & greet), work-study programs (training or (re)training new and current employees), job carving and job creation (for example, splitting off tasks from existing functions and merging them into one or more new functions; making functions suitable for the knowledge and skills of a job seeker).<\/p>\r\n

As an employer, you can be supported by the government in various ways when recruiting staff. You can go to Employer Service Points (WSPs) free of charge for the nomination and placement of suitable candidates, including aftercare, advice on instruments and facilities, advice on inclusive work organization, information on the (regional) labor market and relevant laws and regulations. In addition, financial compensation is available (depending on the background of the employee).<\/p>\r\n
