The product to be clarified or separated flows through a stationary inlet line into the inside of the bowl and is slowly accelerated to operating speed by the distributor. Larger solids are separated directly into the centrifugal field. Finer solids are separated as they flow through the disc stack. The solids collect in the outer solids chambers of the bowl. From there they are continuously discharged through the nozzles.
