All microbiological samples can be manipulated by the WASP: faeces, sputum, urine, wound swabs, \u2026<br \/>Liquid samples such as urine and feces, transported in a \u201cCARY-BLAIR\u201d liquid medium, can be randomly inoculated in combination with the eSwab.<br \/>Copan&#039;s unique eSwab automatically and spontaneously distributes the swab contents into the liquid medium, making inoculation as easy as urine. In other words, no more need to roll the swab over the plate.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>The WASP device: an added value in the microbiology lab.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Does the boring and tedious work, giving lab technicians time to handle more important matters.<\/li>\r\n<li>Produces standardized, accurate and reliable vaccinations.<\/li>\r\n<li>Eliminates the common \u201cSTRESS INJURIES\u201d.<\/li>\r\n<li>Innovative mechanics provide great flexibility in management applications of different specimens and steel containers.<\/li>\r\n<li>A universal barcode reader ensures that the entire process of sample recognition, dates of birth, connections with the LIS, which plates to use, which grafting method, etc. is properly managed.<\/li>\r\n<li>Renewed and easy to use software linked to a touch screen.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>De-cap &gt; Grafting &gt; Re-cap<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>One device processes all swabs, urine and feces samples.<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Extremely flexible and efficient: 180 urines per hour (when using 2-compartment Petri dishes), 180 nose and throat swabs per hour and 45 wound swabs per hour (e.g. 4 dishes with 4 dilution inoculations).<\/li>\r\n<li>A complete \u201cWalk Away\u201d system: automatic decapping, grafting and recapping in just a few seconds.<\/li>\r\n<li>Minimal presence of a lab technician. It takes about 20 minutes before the device needs to be refilled with new samples, for example.<\/li>\r\n<li>Switch the unit to the \u201cStreak only\u201d method and the WASP will automatically inoculate all subcultures such as Rappaport Salmonella, Selenite and any enriched media such as MRSA&#039;s or BMS&#039;s.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>WASP benefits:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Moves the difficult lab work to an efficient and fully automatic robot. The dual \u201cSCARA\u201d robots deliver highly reliable sample management with precise grafting.<\/li>\r\n<li>Frees lab technicians from tedious, time-consuming work and allows them to use their knowledge in more applicable and important tasks.<\/li>\r\n<li>A \u201cTOUCH SCREEN\u201d and a well-integrated barcode system make it possible to perform a great deal of work in a minimum of time.<\/li>\r\n<li>A carousel with a huge capacity of 324 plates allows you to inoculate 324 urine samples on 2-compartment Petri dishes at once.<\/li>\r\n<li>9 Petri plate holders with random access provide total flexibility, i.e. up to 9 different culture plates can be set up.<\/li>\r\n<li>Extremely suitable for both simple and complex vaccinations in a jiffy. Ranging from throat swabs, urines, MRSA screenings to fecal and wound swabs.<\/li>\r\n<li>The software package allows you to choose from a library of grafting patterns or if you prefer you can design your own grafting pattern that meets your requirements.<\/li>\r\n<li>Can be fully connected to the LIS or can function as a completely independent device.<\/li>\r\n<li>Inoculates your entire steel range, but can be converted with one simple touch of the screen to a \u201cSTREAK ONLY\u201d method allowing the different subcultures (Salmonella, Selenite, \u2026) to be inoculated.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><strong>Gram preparation module<\/strong><br \/>The automated Gram Slide Prep\u2122 is designed to prepare a Gram slide, including permanent inkjet labeling of slides prior to Gram staining. The Gram Slide Prep\u2122 represents an even greater advancement in sample processing automation. The WASP is the only instrument in its class to offer such comprehensive and automated solutions.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Broth inoculation module<\/strong><br \/>The WASP inoculates instrument-ready enrichment \u201cBroths\u201d such as LIM and Selenite, which are part of the Copan LBM line. After inoculation, the flexible barcode labeling arm adjusts and moves from its horizontal position to its vertical position.
