Organizations are crying out for staff, especially now! The theme of staff shortages has been making headlines more and more lately. Various sectors, including our own industry, have been struggling with staff shortages for some time, even before corona arrived. These shortages were predicted, but action was taken too late. Time to really take action yourself! But what can you do as an organization to find and retain employees?<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Happiness at work<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The most important point for attracting and retaining employees is: job satisfaction!<\/p>\r\n

Because you are really happy in what you do, how you do it and where you do it, your battery is able to recharge during work. This way you keep the perfect balance in your energy, for both work and home. Especially now, (new) employees are increasingly looking for that balance rather than a good salary. You can easily incorporate this into your organization and vacancies. Below you can read 4 tips on how to do this.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Tips:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

In a subsequent article we will discuss the staff shortages in more detail. For now, here are a few practical tips to get started now...<\/p>\r\n

As an employer you have to stand head and shoulders above the rest. This means you have to be creative in recruiting and retaining people. And above all: don't just talk, but do! A few tips:<\/p>\r\n\r\n

  • Future perspective!<\/li>\r\n\r\n

    What employees are mainly looking for is a challenge and development perspective. Be creative in this, offer multiple options and also solutions that are not obvious.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

  • Selection criteria<\/li>\r\n\r\n

    Hire people with the right soft skills and appealing talents. And base the ambition of your company on the ambitions of the people you employ. So be flexible and put your people first!<\/p>\r\n\r\n

  • Labor mobility<\/li>\r\n\r\n

    Explore the possibilities of internal mobility: which employees are on the bench and which positions are open? If necessary, seek cooperation with fellow employers and build an internal supply and demand bank for personnel!<\/p>\r\n\r\n

  • Automation & tooling<\/li>\r\n\r\n

    Such a supply and demand bank is possible thanks to digitalization. You can also provide insight into career paths online, digitize training and courses and support employees and managers in their preparation for the future.<\/p>\r\n
