Design challenges of using modern CPUs on SOM module applications<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\r\n\"Geen<\/a>Modern interfaces such as USB Type-C, PCIe and Gen4 often make current designs more complex. Systems may not yet be compatible with the new generation of interfaces. A design method that can overcome such challenges is building a SOM module (system on module). This is a method in which the different system functionalities are integrated on a single board. SOM modules are often used in the field of embedded systems. Unlike a single-board computer, a SOM has a special function, much like a system on a chip (SoC).\r\n

Building a SOM brings advantages such as cost reduction, reuse of a design and high compatibility within embedded systems. During the D&E event, Claus Giebert from Advantech will give a presentation on behalf of Telerex<\/a> explanation of how proven building blocks and local support contribute to a successful design.<\/p>\r\n

Smart tools simplify PCB design<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\r\n\"Geen<\/a>\r\n

Anticipating potential problems early in the design process is the key to success in PCB design. The tools available to create a suitable layout are continuing to develop and respond more and more accurately to current market situations. For example, there are applications that enable designers to provide real-time information about the availability of specific components.<\/p>\r\n

Olivier Arnaud from Siemens EDA speaks on behalf of Innofour<\/a> the story behind a supply-chain-oriented application that puts real-time sourcing information at the fingertips of designers. This accelerates and simplifies the choice of components, leaving more time for design innovation and optimization.<\/p>\r\n

Another method to obtain an up-to-date representation of design information is augmented reality (AR). This is an interactive experience of a real environment in which the objects found in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information.
