EMC problems caused by PV installations are frequently observed by radio amateurs. When receiving on amateur bands, this type of interference is noticeable both on the HF (High Frequency), but also on a significant part of the VHF (Very High Frequency). As an amateur you will have to work a bit out of the box to do something about the interference. Fortunately, there are good options to significantly improve reception on the HF bands. Ernst Schrama, Associate Professor at the Tu Delft<\/a>, in his presentation at the EMC-ESD event, discusses the cause of these disturbances from PV installations and related high-frequency sources and how they can be solved\/avoided.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

According to Dr. Ir. Schrama offers numerous alternatives for radio amateurs to largely avoid the problem of PV installation failure. The question can be asked whether large-scale installation of PV installations in the Netherlands is at all possible, because radio frequencies up to and including VHF are used in aviation, but also for various other public services.<\/p>\r\n

Previous efforts from the amateur community have led to solutions, for example, to provide PLC circuits with notch filters. For inverters in PV installations and perhaps also charging stations for electric transport (which may soon become wireless), it is advisable to think ahead to prevent unnecessary future EMC problems.<\/p>\r\n
