Nowadays, artificial intelligence is increasingly finding its way into embedded systems. It makes applications possible that were previously unthinkable. However, integrating this type of high-performance hardware in harsh environments can have implications.<\/p>\r\n

Florian Faltin from Elma-Electronic, on behalf of Elincom Electronics, uses a customer case to explain how such problems can be dealt with. And an important question that should not be forgotten is how to ensure reusability of such a complex development for similar applications in the future.<\/p>\r\n

Static analyzes are not sufficient to test real-time embedded software<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\"Geen<\/a>\r\n

MISRA verifications and static analyzes are increasingly used to test and verify embedded software. A real-time embedded system, as the name suggests, transmits data 'live'. Hot off the press! To ensure that this process runs smoothly, it is important to thoroughly test such a system before it is put into use.<\/p>\r\n

Early testing brings benefits!<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\"Geen<\/a>\r\n

Testing a product\/system may not be the first thing that comes to mind when designing the application in question. However, it is important to think about this carefully from the initial phase. Testing at an early stage can prevent errors and therefore additional costs.<\/p>\r\n

A method for early testing is a so-called HIL test (Hardware in the Loop). Characteristic of this methodology is that in a simulation, in a model, different states of sensors, actuators and human\/machine interface are simulated. In this way, future outcomes are predicted, even before an application has been realized. William Baars from CN Rood is happy to tell you more about the test methodology and show some practical examples, including recalls due to a lack of attention in the design\/test phase.<\/p>\r\n

The daily functioning of a company consists of a complex network of business processes. To manage these business processes clearly, the right software tooling is often a suitable solution.
