Together with strong partners such as TNO, SURF, BTG, Unmanned Valley Valkenburg, Green Village, RoboValley and Mobility Innovation Center Delft, we conduct research into the innovation of Private 5G in IoT and 5G applications.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Do IoT Fieldlab was founded by the province of South Holland, TNO, the municipality of Delft, the Rotterdam The Hague Metropolitan Region (MRDH), the municipality of Katwijk, Holland Rijnland and TU Delft.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h2>Two ultra-modern 5G test locations for Do IoT Fieldlab<\/h2>\r\n<p>There are two test locations where the ultra-modern experimental communications infrastructure is being constructed: The Green Village on the TU Delft Campus and Unmanned Valley at the former Valkenburg military air base near Katwijk. These are both &#039;regulation-free&#039; testing grounds, which makes it possible to quickly develop innovations in the field of the Internet of Things (IoT). In addition, a mobile test setup is being built, which can be used for testing at companies, but also at other field labs, such as RoboHouse. Do IoT Fieldlab expects to carry out around forty projects over the next three years.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h3>Objective to experience 5G as a Private network<\/h3>\r\n<p>Bas Piek Commercial Director MCS: \u201c<em>We are extremely proud to be able to collaborate with these strong partners in this innovative project. In the run-up to this announcement, we have already done preparatory work in various working groups and there is an enormous bundling of knowledge, experience, innovation and energy that is guaranteed to lead to great results. Our objective is to experience the possibilities of 5G as a private network, so that we can continue to advise our customers in delivering successful IoT solutions and private networks and in particular the possibilities of this with 5G.<\/em><em>.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\r\n<p>MCS contributes its technical knowledge in this Do IoT Fieldlab about installing, configuring and managing Private IoT networks. MCS, like the other partners, puts forward their expertise in their fields. Together we test and develop 5G applications, so that we can then use them in practice. And with this experience we can further help our business partners facilitate successful IoT solutions and applications in the 5G era.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h3>5G \u2013 very fast connection with high reliability<\/h3>\r\n<p>IoT allows large numbers of devices to exchange information via a wireless network. This requires very fast connections with high reliability and a short response time. 5G, the new generation of mobile communications networks, offers this possibility. For example, it makes it possible for surgeons to perform surgery remotely, for cars to drive autonomously and for drones to follow programmed flight routes independently.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h3>Do IoT Fieldlab contributes to scientific research<\/h3>\r\n<p>The new Do IoT Fieldlab also contributes to scientific research into 5G. Researchers from TU Delft are examining the question of how safe, reliable and energy-efficient IoT is, but also what the successor to 5G will be. They are given the unique opportunity to test their developed theory in practice.
