The third edition of the Energy Storage event \u2013 on Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 February \u2013 took place digitally this year. During this event, trends and developments in the field of energy storage were discussed in detail. This digital format attracted 830 viewers and the number of webinar registrations amounted to 1,555. Also new was corona-proof networking, an online matching mechanism that worked safely and easily thanks to the smart matchmaking platform.<\/strong>

<\/strong>Manager Transition Energy System Alexander Savelkoul of Enpuls opened the first day of the Energy Storage event 2021. In his presentation he went into more detail about the pilot that was carried out in Altweerterheide in Limburg. In this practical research, Enpuls tested the use of a battery in combination with a solar park to make better use of the electricity grids.<\/p>\r\n

Consultant Ren\u00e9 Bos of TT&MS went in search of answers to the question of what the advantages of a test setup of batteries in combination with fuel cell emulators are in his presentation. Managing Director Kees Winkel of Weiss Technik Nederland talked about testing batteries and went into more detail about the importance of choosing the right battery.

Rapid developments<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The afternoon program was opened by Product Marketing Specialist Roy Hali of Hioki on behalf of CN Rood. During this session, the differences and similarities between batteries and fuel cells were examined.

Prof. Ir. Peter Vaessen from TU Delft had the honor of closing the first day of the Energy Storage event. He went into more detail about the role of electrical energy storage systems, the rapid developments of battery systems and their physical limits.

Second day<\/strong>
The second day of the Energy Storage event. Managing Director Sander Kool of Engineering Spirit took care of the kick-off. In his session he talked about the (im)possibilities of lithium batteries.

The presentation by Product Manager Hans Zijlstra of Elincom electronics was cancelled due to circumstances. This interactive presentation has been postponed to Monday 1 March at 13:00. The existing link to this webinar remains valid. In this presentation Zijlstra will discuss the transport of lithium batteries.

Matchmaking platform<\/strong>
The afternoon program was opened by commercial technical advisor Raymond Vergouwe of Bender Benelux. In his presentation he talked about Energy (Battery) Storage Systems and how companies can monitor in the right way and recognize insulation errors early.

After Vergouwe's session, space was built in for the matchmaking platform. There, visitors and exhibitors could meet each other in a digital environment. After watching a short company film highlighting innovations, visitors could decide whether they wanted to receive more information from the exhibitor in question. By clicking on a button, they could make an appointment directly. This option was appreciated by both visitors and exhibitors.

Safe business operations<\/strong>
After this innovative corona-proof network meeting, it was the turn of CEO Max Aerts of DENS. He explained about climate-neutral construction with the DENS Hydrozine generator<\/a>Consultant Paul Hoorens of CroonWolter&Dros concluded the lecture program of day two. In his session he clarified the importance of safe operation of battery energy storage systems.

Due to the corona crisis, the event, like many other FHI meetings, was held online. This format took some getting used to for some, but the second edition of this trade fair was also well received. All speakers spoke passionately about their field of expertise and actively sought interaction with the listeners. Despite the impact of Covid-19, there was a sense of solidarity. All sessions were followed with great enthusiasm and viewers asked many questions via the chat function. Each presentation attracted an average of around eighty viewers.<\/p>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\r\n\t
