Innovative drone project for medical care<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Waldenburg (Germany), February 8, 2021 \u2013 As a leading manufacturer of electronic and electromechanical components, W\u00fcrth Elektronik actively promotes sustainable innovations, start-ups and young developers. In addition to providing components free of charge, the assistance includes, in particular, support from experienced electronics and design experts as well as the transfer of technical know-how. A current example is the support of the humanitarian project Yonah by the W\u00fcrth Elektronik branch in Singapore. The start-up has developed a robust cargo drone for medicine deliveries to impassable areas.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

A hospital in the difficult-to-access highlands of Papua New Guinea and the fight against a rampant livestock epidemic there were the impetus for the Yonah founders to develop an innovative cargo drone for transporting medicines. The portable, particularly robust and low-maintenance robotic aircraft has a long range and can take off and land vertically. An indispensable component in the electronics-hostile environment are particularly robust and vibration-insensitive connectors, which were provided to the developers by W\u00fcrth Elektronik. The first operational drone from the Yonah development is a hybrid aircraft that combines the flexibility of a multi-rotor helicopter with the endurance performance of a fixed-wing aircraft.<\/p>\r\n
