FHI conducted a survey on the economic impact of the corona crisis on all companies affiliated with us. In total, 118 companies completed the survey. On May 11, we were able to share the first global results. Today, we are announcing the results per sector.

<\/strong>This survey was created by FHI to gain more insight into the consequences of the crisis. A number of questions were asked about the (expected) problems in business operations and the extent to which government support measures are being used. The report can be downloaded per sector to gain even more insight.

In the industry Medical Technology<\/strong> 43 percent indicate that they are already in trouble because of the crisis. Another 29 percent expect to experience economic difficulties in the future. In terms of the type of problems, they mainly expect a decrease in turnover and order portfolio.

In the Laboratory Technology<\/strong>-sector, 53 percent of companies are currently experiencing problems due to the corona crisis. Another 37 percent expect problems in the near future. A total of 42 percent of respondents are experiencing a decrease in their order portfolio and an equal number are experiencing a decrease in turnover. In addition, 36 percent are making use of the current NOW scheme.

The companies in the Industrial Electronics<\/strong>-sector mainly indicate that they expect problems in the near future (53 percent). At the moment, 41 percent of companies already indicate that they are struggling with a decrease in the order portfolio and turnover. In addition, 24 percent already use the NOW scheme and 23 percent see themselves forced to reduce the flexible workforce.

In the Industrial automation<\/strong>-sector, the need is currently very high: half indicate that they are already in trouble because of the corona crisis. Another 38 percent expect this in the future and only 12 percent expect to come through the crisis unscathed. Therefore, 42 percent are already experiencing a decrease in the order portfolio and 34 percent a decrease in turnover. In addition, 42 percent are currently using the NOW wage cost subsidy.

Finally the Building Automation<\/strong>-sector. Here, all companies that participated in the survey experience problems or expect them. They think they will have to attract extra credit in the future, as well as apply for the wage cost subsidy scheme NOW.
