Due to the global corona crisis, there is an acceleration in digitalization in organizations, because almost all employees of companies and organizations are currently working from home. Where management was often still reluctant about digitalization, this position has become untenable in the current times.<\/p>\r\n

Working from home teaches us how to work in a flexible office and we experience working from achieving a goal instead of being in the office for eight hours. Self-management and self-entrepreneurship of all people in an organization are also central to managing employees. The corona crisis ensures that people think and act differently in relation to the digital possibilities that have been around for many years.<\/p>\r\n

Innovative digital solutions are being developed in various sectors. For example, at the UMC Utrecht, healthcare has switched from physical planning on whiteboards to a central app that monitors and provides insight into the current occupancy of beds. The much-discussed corona app can also be seen as an accelerated digitalisation. The app is a kind of decision aid. You enter complaints via the app and receive advice, for example whether you should call your GP.<\/p>\r\n

There is a lot of looking and experimenting going on in schools to develop distance education. Educational institutions have been saying for years that education is changing under the influence of digital possibilities. There are institutions that are already well on their way in offering education digitally, but there is a lot of catching up to do, especially in primary education, and there are many challenges.<\/p>\r\n

The world is on the eve of a kind of reset: the corona crisis is shifting priorities and interests are being weighed differently. For example, crime in the online world is increasing, while there is a decrease in crime in other areas. Having cyber security in order within organizations has become even more important. The fact that cyber security in the built environment is of great importance was once again extensively highlighted by the trade association for Building Automation in 2019. During the Bits, Bricks & Behavior conference<\/a> In 2019, half of the lectures in the Bits track were devoted to increasing cyber security, providing tips and tricks and giving organizations direction on what to prepare for in the future.<\/p>\r\n

The cyber security meetings<\/a>, which in collaboration with Technology Netherlands<\/a> and KNX<\/a> have been organized, already indicated the usefulness and necessity of professional security. Discussions are currently underway between the three organizations about a follow-up to these meetings in 2020. We cannot do without digitalization in the follow-up to these meetings either. The development of a tool that can test the security of systems in the built environment is currently being investigated.<\/p>\r\n

The corona crisis will also cause a further digital revolution in the built environment that cannot yet be foreseen. The Dutch trade association for Building Automation has collaboration and knowledge sharing on various themes as a spearhead. Collaboration and knowledge sharing have become even more important in these uncertain times and will contribute to rebuilding the economy.<\/p>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\r\n\t
