The FME and the Metaalunie are working together with the central government and the trade unions on a protocol for the industry. The protocol must contain basic guidelines for the one-and-a-half meter economy and be ready before April 28. Organizations in other sectors are also working with the government on new rules.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The protocol focuses on creating a workable situation in the industry, reports<\/a> MetalNews. To keep the coronavirus under control, the RIVM regulations will be observed.<\/p>\r\n

Chairman Fried Kaanen of the Royal Metal Union says that the protocol must be ready within two weeks, before the intelligent lockdown may be relaxed on April 28. The parties are also considering setting up a helpdesk. This desk must be staffed by experts and help entrepreneurs with questions about the protocol.<\/p>\r\n

The central government is involved in drawing up the protocol. The authors believe that a possible 'stamp of approval' by the government will give the protocol more expressiveness. The government may also play a role in enforcement.<\/p>\r\n

It is now in construction 'Protocol Working safely together'<\/a> drawn up. This was developed by Bouwend Nederland and Techniek Nederland. There are also protocols in the cleaning industry available<\/a>. Many other industries are expected to follow suit.<\/p>\r\n

Companies in the industry have already taken many measures to comply with the RIVM regulations. For example, some companies work with two groups of employees who work on separate days and lunch breaks are staggered. Bicycle manufacturer Gazelle has reopened its factory and has taken various measures for its employees in its factory, reports<\/a> the NOS. For example, plexiglass walls have been installed in the factory and workplaces have been created where employees can keep sufficient distance.<\/p>\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\r\n\t
