But the specific tasks of a biobank entail important additional requirements. During LabAutomation 2020, Bio-ITech will present biobank solutions that perfectly meet these requirements with eLABJournal.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p>An electronic lab journal is more than a note-taking application for recording results. In addition to complete traceability, the added value of an electronic lab journal comes from the integration of protocols, samples and different types of data. Sample management is central, especially for biobanks. Due to the large numbers of samples that have to be processed daily, additional requirements are imposed on the automation, traceability and high-throughput processing of samples.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Rack Scanners<\/strong><br \/>Rack scanners are an important tool for processing large numbers of samples. These scanners offer the ability to scan samples with data matrix codes, organize samples and high-throughput sample batch processing. The real added value of this information becomes visible if it can be directly linked to a sample management system.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Rack scanner integrations<br \/><\/strong>By integrating the output of a rack scanner directly into a Sample Management system, sample information can be displayed visually and a complete audit trail and change log can be maintained. eLABJournal and eLABInventory now offer extensive support for the integration of rack scanners.<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Eppendorf RackScan<br \/><\/strong>One of the rack scanners that is fully supported within eLAB is the Eppendorf RackScan. In addition to the above functionalities, an additional service is offered as part of the eppendorf SafeCode system.
