\n\t\t\tIn September 2018, the building automation industry association called on its members to join the education working group. The working group has now had its first meeting. A first conclusion that can be drawn is that pupils should be made enthusiastic about technology at a young age. When choosing a secondary education course, pupils are more likely to opt for a course in technology. A primary school in Limburg has its pupils participate in a smart city project, a primary school in Rotterdam has its pupils participate in a sustainability project and a primary school in Zeist had its pupils design a city of the future. These are good examples of primary school pupils coming into contact with technology at a young age. The working group is investigating how the building automation industry association can contribute to making primary school pupils enthusiastic about technology. The working group will soon also start discussions with several secondary education institutions. The education working group will take stock of the courses offered and where the opportunities for collaboration lie. The sector is increasingly saying that a technical course at senior general secondary education level is desirable. More on this subject soon.
