\n\t\t\t\t\tImplementation of the decision on costs of re-inspections of the Metrology Act\t\t\t\t<\/h1>\n\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\tAs of 1 July 2017, the Netherlands Telecom Agency will implement the decision on costs of re-inspections of the Metrology Act (dated 19 December 2016).\r\n\r\nMetrology Act<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe Metrology Act of 2 February 2006, formerly the Dutch Calibration Act, describes in detail the rules regarding units of measurement and the marketing and use of measuring instruments. The Metrology Act ensures that measuring instruments meet the statutory requirements, in order to enforce fair trade for all parties. Since 1 January 2016, the Netherlands Telecom Agency has been monitoring compliance with this law.\r\n\r\nUser responsible<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe user of a measuring instrument is responsible for ensuring that the measuring instrument meets the legal requirements. If an inspector finds during an inspection visit that this is not the case, the user is in violation. He must repair the measuring instrument. This will be followed by a re-inspection by the inspector. As of 1 July 2017, there will be costs associated with re-inspections.\r\n\r\nNew: digital or written feedback <\/strong>\r\n\r\nIn order to keep the costs for the offender as low as possible, it will be possible from 1 July to provide digital or written evidence that the violation has been rectified. Based on this feedback, a re-inspection will take place at the agency's office. If it turns out that the evidence is insufficient, a re-inspection will take place on location. If the evidence is insufficient, but still falls within the set feedback period, the offender will have the opportunity to rectify the violation. To be clear: there are no costs associated with regular inspections.\r\n\r\nRe-inspection rates<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe Telecom Agency is bound by the statutory rates for re-inspections, as stated in Article 1 of the Regulation on the reimbursement of costs of re-inspections under the Metrology Act, dated 16 June 2017. The agency has therefore arrived at the following rate:\r\n
