FHI presents 5 February 2025 Production Process Automation (PPA) event. PPA is the bridge between innovation and real-world problem solutions. Artur Schweidtmann, assistant professor of chemical engineering Delft University of Technology, is one of the key speakers who will introduce you to possible world changing ideas and its practical implications.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has achieved groundbreaking success in domains like computer vision and strategy games, often surpassing human performance. However, its adoption in the process industries remains limited despite immense potential. Artur's presentation for PPA focuses on developing GenAI for process engineering. First, he will introduce the AI software tool for digitizing legacy flowsheets, including Process flow Diagrams, (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Second, he will highlight innovative AI-driven solutions tailored to process engineering and operations, such as P&ID autocompletion, automated PFD-to-P&ID translation, P&ID error corrections, and AI-assisted HAZOPs. Artur's presentation concludes with real-world examples drawn from collaborative research projects with industry partners, showcasing the practical impact of these advancements.<\/p>\n

Digitization Companion<\/h4>\n

Artur will proudly introduce you to Digitization Companion: the future of engineering document digitization. Digitization Companion is the result of years of academic research. It's an AI-powered solution for the digitization of engineering documents like P&IDs and PFDs. Whether you're streaming workflows or reducing manual errors, Digitization Companions goal is to transform how engineers interact with their documentation.<\/p>\n

PPA 2025<\/h4>\n

Come February 5th<\/sup> to conference center 1931 in 's-Hertogenbosch, interact with the participating companies and find new technical inspiration. This year the emphasis is on content and interaction. The enhanced program consists of six inspiring lectures and the exhibitors are challenged by giving pitches and demonstrations. This edition focuses on four themes: artificial intelligence, IT and OT, cybersecurity and digital transformation.
