Clear River Racing<\/a> is Karlstad University's Formula Student team, a non-profit organization driven by passionate students. Each year, the team designs, develops and builds a Formula Student car to compete at the international level. Clear River Racing continues to push the boundaries of innovation, constantly striving for improvements in performance and reliability. Collaboration with industry experts such as CN Rood is essential to success. We spoke with Linn Bergvik (marketing and PR officer at Clear River Racing) about the team, its challenges, the new Delta power supply and the collaboration with CN Rood.<\/p>\r\n

The challenge: Maximizing performance and reliability<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

Linn Bergvik: \u201cFor the 2025 season, our primary goal is to optimize our car's power-to-weight ratio by maximizing kW\/kg. To achieve this, we have focused on reducing the overall weight of the car while simultaneously increasing its power output. One of the key steps we have taken is investing in more powerful and efficient motors, leading to a significant improvement in performance. However, with ambitious goals come technical challenges. This year, our biggest challenge has been enhancing the reliability of our electrical systems. We recognized that our power unit needed an upgrade to ensure consistent performance and durability. Additionally, we introduced a new damper system, designed to prevent mechanical failures and improve overall handling.\u201d<\/p>\r\n

The need for a Delta Elektronika power supply<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

Linn Bergvik: \u201cA crucial part of achieving our technical goals was acquiring a high-quality power supply. Prior to this season, we lacked a reliable method to test our systems. Without a proper power unit, testing our drivetrain and validating its performance before competition was nearly impossible. The Delta Electronics<\/a> power supply (supplied by CN Rood) emerged as the ideal solution, meeting our technical requirements while offering bidirectional capabilities. This functionality allows us to test the inverters, synchronize the motors, and evaluate our battery pack effectively.<\/p>\r\n

We chose Delta not only for its technical compatibility but also because of the excellent support we received. The robust features aligned perfectly with our testing needs. With the implementation of this power supply, provided in collaboration with CN Rood<\/a>, we are now able to conduct comprehensive system testing, ensuring the car is in peak condition before entering competitions.<\/p>\r\n

Collaboration with CN Rood: A Partnership for Success<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

Linn Bergvik: \u201cOur journey toward improved performance and reliability would not have been possible without the support of CN Rood<\/a>. CN Rood has been a valuable partner, providing advice and lending us equipment when needed. Their responsiveness and willingness to assist have made our testing and development process more efficient. The collaboration has proven to be important in ensuring that our new power supply is installed and utilized effectively. The partnership with CN Rood highlights the importance of industry support in student-driven projects and has given our team access to cutting-edge technology and expertise.\u201d<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n
