Traditional honeycomb filters are often vulnerable to mechanical damage, but with additive manufacturing these limitations are a thing of the past. 3D printing allows Parker Chomerics to realize robust, complex geometries without the structural weaknesses of conventional manufacturing methods.<br \/><br \/>With Inconel 3D printing, Parker Chomerics develops EMC honeycomb filters as a single homogeneous part, offering significant advantages:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>No secondary operations \u2013 faster production and fewer assembly steps<\/li>\r\n<li>Maintains filter effectiveness up to 24GHz, compared to traditional honeycombs whose performance drops off around 4GHz<\/li>\r\n<li>Improved ventilation performance \u2013 optimal airflow and shielding<\/li>\r\n<li>Reduced risk of Foreign Object Damage (FOD) \u2013 no burrs or weak parts<\/li>\r\n<li>Great design freedom \u2013 custom solutions without standard material restrictions<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>By no longer being bound to fixed material dimensions, engineers can precisely tailor the honeycomb structure to the desired shielding and ventilation requirements.
