However, when stabilizing or decelerating, the propeller acts as a generator, generating unwanted braking energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Koch offers a specific series of braking resistors for this purpose that convert this energy safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BWD series is at the heart of this solution, with models like the BWD600047K03LIP65IS, 720 W, 15.7 \u03a9, IP65, connected directly to the drive. It dissipates up to 26 kJ at a 6% duty cycle, preventing motor damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These individual braking resistors are UL and CSA standardized and intrinsically safe. They are available in capacities ranging from 100 to 400 W, and can be combined in modules up to 7.2 kW. The ohmic resistance value is available depending on the drive controller&#039;s requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other specifications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Voltage: \u22641000 V DC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Temperature range: -25\u00b0C to +85\u00b0C<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protection class: IP20 or IP65 optional<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These braking resistors are suitable for wall mounting in a control cabinet or for roof mounting. Several accessories are available, such as integrated temperature switches, strain relief, waterproof connections, and touch guards. Thanks to Koch&#039;s precision engineering, oversizing is unnecessary: resistance values and power ratings are precisely matched to the drive controller&#039;s requirements.
