Racing into the Future: The Spark Behind Electric Superbike Twente<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In a world rapidly shifting toward sustainable technology, the race isn’t just on the track, it’s in the workshop, in the lab, and in the minds of the next generation of engineers. At Electric Superbike Twente, our mission is clear: Is to build a foundation and drive innovation in electric motorcycle racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s more than building a fast bike \u2014 it\u2019s about educating ourselves in the engineering of the future, where sustainability and electric drive systems are no longer optional, but essential. Over the years we have produced a total of 5 powerful electric racing motorcycles<\/strong>, but this year our focus is not so much on power, but a brand-new competition; Motostudent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This competition is an international competition, with more than 48 different student teams from across the globe competing. This gives us a chance to really see how well we can build motorcycles and provides us with an opportunity to push our designs to their limit. The new motorcycle: Mirage EVO will therefore focus a lot more on being lightweight, agile and power efficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main goal of our team this year is to lay a foundation for this new competition for the coming years, and perhaps receive the rookie of the year award, an award given to the best new team participating in the competition. To make this goal come true, quite a lot of major redesigns must be made, in part because of new regulations as well as the lower power that the competition requires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To have our students learn as much as possible, as well as efficiency most of our electronic and embedded systems are either configured or manufactured in house, this also means that we must design our own circuits, where PCBs are the final form of our electronic circuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These electronic redesigns mainly consist of new relay and LED driver circuits this year. Where the focus lies on making these safer and more power efficient. Moreover, this year we opted for a new battery cell connection PCB, which will drastically decrease points of failure as well as making the construction of battery pack modules much simpler, and less prone to defects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is where Eurocircuits comes in. They perform a final check on our PCB designs and manufacture them with high precision. The short lead times of Eurocircuits also make sure that our engineers do not have to wait long to test their designs and can continue to develop their circuit designs and layouts in a short amount of time.  Eurocircuits support also made sure that we could finish our new motorcycle in the small amount of available time and focus on making everything safe and as optimal as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
