Strategically positioned at the front and rear of the vehicle, the sensor units facilitate the collection of crucial operational data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_a63cab-f1\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"kt-adv-heading23320_79a0ee-ab wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading23320_79a0ee-ab\"><strong>Sensor Unit Design and Operation To optimize vehicle operation, the team has developed a sensor unit that provides real-time data, including:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_407b79-2d\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Water temperature measurement to monitor the efficiency of the cooling system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Measurement of suspension height, which is critical for optimizing vehicle stability and aerodynamics.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wheel speed measurement, which helps to analyze the traction and acceleration of each wheel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Steering angle measurement, which is essential for assessing optimal cornering dynamics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_878cf7-bc\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-kadence-image kb-image23320_6ac964-fa\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_81982f-03\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"kt-adv-heading23320_520cbd-27 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading23320_520cbd-27\"><strong>Technological Features<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_a3071a-4f\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"kt-adv-heading23320_83686f-44 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading23320_83686f-44\">The sensor unit is powered by a 5V DC supply, which ensures a stable power supply to the sensors. The STM32 microcontroller is responsible for processing the measured data and transmitting them, to the central control unit. Communication is via FDCAN protocol, which guarantees fast and reliable data exchange between the vehicle&#039;s on-board systems. The unit is equipped with 5 analog inputs and an extra channel for the connection of additional sensors. The 34-pin connector ensures a stable connection to other vehicle systems, while the 4-layer printed circuit board design facilitates proper electrical connections and the programming input allows for firmware updates and fine-tuning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_0c20dd-48\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"kt-adv-heading23320_bc701a-09 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading23320_bc701a-09\"><strong>APPS<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_0c5ebd-e5\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-kadence-image kb-image23320_8bc5fa-16\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_fb4b43-ed\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"kt-adv-heading23320_1e98ba-55 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading23320_1e98ba-55\">The APPS (Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor) is a PCB that collects the two sensors required for the accelerator pedal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_afbbf8-f1\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"kt-adv-heading23320_b5bef3-b7 wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading23320_b5bef3-b7\">The APPS is a potentiometer-based sensor that converts pedal movement into voltage signal. When the pedal is pressed, the sensor generates analog voltage which is proportional to the pedal position. This voltage is sent to the PDU (Power Distribution Unit). The PDU processes the signal and adjusts the torque accordingly to control acceleration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-kadence-spacer aligncenter kt-block-spacer-23320_6bf19d-0f\"><div class=\"kt-block-spacer kt-block-spacer-halign-center\"><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"kt-adv-heading23320_bf4065-3a wp-block-kadence-advancedheading\" data-kb-block=\"kb-adv-heading23320_bf4065-3a\">The system usually includes dual sensors to prevent failures.
