Coincel supercapacitors<\/strong><\/p>

Coin-cell supercapacitors are small devices that can store and quickly release electrical energy. They resemble batteries, but function differently. They have high capacity, charge quickly, and last a long time.<\/p>

Supercapacitors have about ten percent of the energy density of rechargeable batteries of the same weight. Yet they can deliver significantly more power. They charge and discharge ten to a hundred times faster than a battery. They can also withstand many more charge cycles. This makes them suitable as replacements or supplements for batteries in applications with high peak loads.<\/p>

Power density<\/strong> Indicates how quickly a component can absorb or release energy. This is important for applications that require short, powerful bursts of energy, such as starting a motor. Supercapacitors score highly in this regard because they can deliver energy quickly.<\/p>

Energy density<\/strong> shows how much energy a component can store for an extended period. This is important for systems that require continuous power. Batteries usually have an advantage here, but supercapacitors complement this well.<\/p>

SCHURTER's new coin cell supercapacitors<\/strong><\/p>

SCHURTER introduces a new series of coin-cell supercapacitors. They are available for horizontal mounting (SCCA) and vertical mounting (SCCC). The devices operate in systems up to 5.5 V and have a capacitance range of 100 to 1500 mF.<\/p>

Applications<\/strong><\/p>

The new supercapacitors are used in a wide variety of devices and systems. Examples include uninterruptible power supplies, electronic equipment, renewable energy applications, and medical systems. They are often used as backups for real-time clocks. They are also suitable for memory backup, bridging battery changes, and for LED or audible alarms.<\/p>
