class=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"text__content text__content--1-col\">\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Laboratoria staan onder toenemende druk om sneller, effici\u00ebnter en reproduceerbaarder te werken. Digitalisering en automatisering zijn daarbij onmisbaar, maar in de praktijk vormen juist de vele verschillende apparaten en interfaces een hardnekkige rem.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tijdens LabAutomation 2026 in congrescentrum 1931 in \u2019s\u2011Hertogenbosch werd duidelijk dat de Laboratory and Analytical Device Standard (LADS) een structurele oplossing biedt voor dit probleem.<\/p>\n<p>In de presentatie <em>\u201cLADS \u2013 Open Lab Standard: easy to use and ready to scale\u201d<\/em> lieten Janina Bolling en Maximilian Wiens zien hoe een open, fabrikant\u2011onafhankelijke standaard laboratoria helpt om de stap te maken van losse eilandoplossingen naar een samenhangend, schaalbaar ecosysteem.<\/p>\n<h4>Versnippering als structureel knelpunt<\/h4>\n<p>Moderne laboratoria bestaan uit hooggespecialiseerde instrumenten van uiteenlopende leveranciers. Elk apparaat heeft zijn eigen communicatiemethode en datamodel. Het gevolg: data blijft opgesloten in proprietary systemen, integratie kost tijd en geld, en automatisering is lastig op te schalen. Deze versnippering belemmert niet alleen effici\u00ebntie, maar ook innovatie, bijvoorbeeld op het gebied van geavanceerde workflow\u2011automatisering en data\u2011gedreven analyse.<\/p>\n<h4>E\u00e9n taal voor laboratoriumapparatuur<\/h4>\n<p>LADS is ontwikkeld om dit fundamentele probleem aan te pakken. De standaard definieert een uniform informatiemodel voor analytische en laboratoriumapparatuur en is opgezet als OPC UA Companion Specification. Daardoor kunnen apparaten en softwarepakketten, ongeacht fabrikant of type, via \u00e9\u00e9n gemeenschappelijke \u2018taal\u2019 met elkaar communiceren.<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a><\/p>\n<p>De keuze voor OPC UA is daarbij essentieel. Deze industri\u00eble communicatiestandaard biedt bewezen mechanismen voor beveiliging, betrouwbaarheid en schaalbaarheid. Door hierop voort te bouwen, sluit LADS het laboratorium naadloos aan op bredere industri\u00eble automatiserings\u2011 en IT\u2011architecturen.<\/p>\n<h4>Apparaat\u2011agnostisch en toekomstbestendig<\/h4>\n<p>Een opvallend ontwerpprincipe van LADS is het apparaat\u2011agnostische karakter. In plaats van voor elk type instrument een apart model te defini\u00ebren, beschrijft LADS de gemeenschappelijke noemer van laboratoriumapparatuur. Dat voorkomt een wildgroei aan standaarden en houdt de complexiteit beheersbaar, ook bij snelle innovatiecycli.<\/p>\n<p>Het LADS\u2011model ondersteunt kernfunctionaliteiten zoals monitoring en besturing, meldingen en alarmen, programma\u2011 en resultatenbeheer en asset\u2011 en onderhoudsinformatie. Daarmee vormt het een solide basis voor zowel dagelijkse operatie als strategische digitalisering.<\/p>\n<h4>Praktische voordelen voor gebruikers<\/h4>\n<p>Voor laboratoria betekent LADS vooral: minder maatwerk en meer herbruikbaarheid. Apparaten kunnen eenvoudiger worden ge\u00efntegreerd in overkoepelende software, workflows zijn beter overdraagbaar en automatisering is stapsgewijs op te schalen. Ook bestaande instrumentparken kunnen worden aangesloten, bijvoorbeeld via gateways die niet\u2011native LADS\u2011apparatuur koppelen aan het standaardmodel.<\/p>\n<p>Deze aanpak maakt het mogelijk om vandaag te beginnen met digitalisering, zonder vast te lopen in vendor lock\u2011in of een alles\u2011of\u2011niets implementatie.<\/p>\n<h4>Van initiatief naar fundament<\/h4>\n<p>LADS is ontwikkeld vanuit de sector zelf, met als doel een duurzaam en breed toepasbaar fundament te leggen voor het digitale laboratorium. De standaard is niet gericht op \u00e9\u00e9n specifieke branche, maar houdt rekening met uiteenlopende workflows en toekomstige eisen op het gebied van automatisering en data\u2011integratie.<\/p>\n<p>De boodschap tijdens LabAutomation was helder: verdere digitalisering van laboratoria vraagt niet om n\u00f3g meer maatwerk, maar om gedeelde afspraken. Met LADS ligt er een open standaard die interoperabiliteit mogelijk maakt en laboratoria voorbereidt op de volgende fase van automatisering.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[1]<\/a> Voor
