Integrated room automation for maximum comfort and the best energy efficiency<\/h3>\n

Just imagine entering a space that knows your needs before you even speak them. The blinds go down before the sun blinds you. Fresh air comes in before you open the window. The light adjusts imperceptibly, sometimes warm, sometimes bright, always just right. There is no witchcraft behind it, but rather state-of-the-art room automation from SAUTER. <\/em><\/p>\n

Buildings are the places where we live, work, and spend our free time, and are therefore crucial for our well-being and performance. At the same time, they take buildings in the EU account for approximately 401 TP3T of energy consumption, of which approximately 801 TP3T is intended for heating, cooling and hot water<\/a>.To increase energy efficiency, it is crucial to start directly where the energy demand arises: in the rooms themselves. Room automation therefore plays an important role in building automation. It combines comfort and energy saving by intelligently regulating temperature, air quality, light, and shade according to requirements.<\/p>\n

Integrated instead of isolated<\/h3>\n

Truly energy-efficient building operation can only be achieved if the indoor climate, lighting, and sun protection are not viewed in isolation, but are intelligently interconnected. Only the harmonious interaction of the various functions creates an environment that guarantees comfort and efficiency in equal measure. To achieve this, the components used must be seamlessly compatible and capable of reliably exchanging information. The best way to achieve this is with a single-source solution, such as SAUTER\u2019s integrated room automation. It combines all central functions into a single system, thereby guaranteeing comfortable and energy-efficient operation of the building.<\/p>\n

In the integrated interaction of spatial functions, buildings can be operated optimally and energy-efficiently in accordance with EN ISO 52120. SAUTER Smart Shading: intelligent shadow correction<\/h3>\n

Sun shading in buildings, in particular, is one of the greatest challenges in room automation. With Smart Shading, SAUTER offers a fully integrated system solution that goes far beyond conventional sun shading control. Based on the German VDI guidelines 3813\/3814, intelligent shade correction is added to the automatic system based on the position of the sun. The function adjusts the position of the sun shading to the actual sunlight. In doing so, it takes into account not only the daily changing position of the sun, but also surrounding buildings and its own facade sections as potential shadow casters. Based on the geographical location and the position of the sun at that moment, it calculates for an entire year, per 15-minute grid, whether a window is in shade at that moment. If the system detects shade from adjacent buildings or building structures, it automatically places the sun shading in a predefined position and ensures optimal use of daylight. The intelligent control system increases user comfort, reduces energy requirements for artificial lighting, and simultaneously optimizes heating and cooling loads.<\/p>\n

Perfectly connected to a network<\/h3>\n

SAUTER Smart Shading can be seamlessly integrated into the automation of the entire room, thereby meeting the integration requirements of VDI 3813\/3814. Various methods are available for controlling sun protection: conventionally via relay contacts or digitally via standardized interfaces such as KNX or SMI. SMI (Standard Motor Interface) in particular has developed into an industry standard. As a uniform, manufacturer-independent interface for sun protection motors, the communication protocol offers simple integration into the central building management system thanks to easy installation, user-friendly parameterization, and the highest precision.<\/p>\n
