Intelligent room control for fan coil applications<\/h3>\n

The SAUTER ecos501 sets a new standard for comfort-oriented and energy-efficient room control. Specifically developed for the requirements of the French market, it controls fan coil units (FCUs) and similar HVAC systems. It combines state-of-the-art control technology with intuitive operation and full connectivity \u2013 ideal for buildings of any size. The ecos501 complies with the requirements of the French RE2020 regulation, one of the strictest European standards for energy efficiency and climate protection in buildings.<\/p>\n

The ecos501 is universally applicable and suitable for 2-pipe systems, 2-pipe systems with an electric heater, and 4-pipe systems.<\/p>\n

It controls valves, electric heating elements, and fan motors accurately and energy-efficiently. Thanks to the versatile inputs and outputs, it can be used in both simple and complex HVAC systems. The controller supports the SAUTER room control units EY-RU355 and EY-RU365 and can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems.<\/p>\n

Optimal air quality and operational reliability<\/h3>\n

The ecos501 actively contributes to improving indoor air quality. In combination with CO\u2082 or TVOC sensors, it regulates the supply of fresh air on demand via a 0-10 V output for (outdoor) air dampers. When the CO\u2082 concentration in the room rises, the damper opens automatically until the air quality is optimal again. This ensures a healthy indoor climate at all times.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the ecos501 supports the scheduling and control of operating hours via configurable time programs. These enable automatic switching between occupied and unoccupied periods, which further reduces energy consumption.<\/p>\n

With a 230 V power supply, DIN rail mounting, four analog and four digital outputs, three universal inputs, and an integrated web server and Bluetooth, the ecos501 is prepared for all modern building automation systems. It integrates seamlessly into the SAUTER ecosystem with modulo 6, ecos504, and SVC.<\/p>\n

The Environmental Regulations 2020 (RE2020)<\/strong> is the French energy and environmental legislation for new construction. It has three main objectives:<\/p>\n

  1. Reducing the energy consumption of buildings<\/strong>, among other things through intelligent control and efficient use of heating and cooling.<\/li>\n
  2. Minimizing CO\u2082 emissions<\/strong>, especially by limiting the use of fossil energy.<\/li>\n
  3. Improving the thermal and acoustic comfort of residents<\/strong>, both in summer and in winter.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The SAUTER ecos501 contributes directly to achieving these objectives. Its PI control ensures precise temperature control, thereby limiting energy loss. Thanks to adaptive fan control, demand-controlled fresh air supply, and the outdoor temperature-based energy saving function, the ecos501 actively supports compliance with RE2020 requirements.<\/p>\n

    A particularly important aspect is the integrated energy limiting function, which meets an essential requirement of the RE2020:
    \nAs soon as the desired room temperature is reached, the operation of the electric auxiliary heating is automatically reduced. This prevents unnecessary energy consumption and significantly lowers the annual primary energy consumption (Cep,nr), fully in accordance with RE2020.<\/p>\n
