<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\nAfter securing victory at the World Solar Challenge in Australia last summer, the Delft Solar Team is already setting its sights on a completely new adventure: the American Solar Challenge. This marks a historic milestone, as no Dutch or European solar racing team has ever competed in this race before.<\/strong><\/span>\n\n\n\n

The American Solar Challenge represents a unique and demanding test for the team. Unlike previous competitions, the exact route across the United States has not yet been revealed. This uncertainty requires a fundamentally different approach to vehicle design, race strategy, and overall preparation. Every decision must be flexible enough to handle multiple possible scenarios.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within just eight days, the team must cover an impressive distance of 5,000 kilometers. The team must prepare for different climate zones, ranging from humid regions to potentially extreme desert heat, as well as highly varied road conditions. Elevation changes, temperature differences, and surface quality all have a direct impact on energy consumption and vehicle performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even for highly specialized boards, such as high layer count PCBs or 2oz copper boards required for higher current loads. Their ability to reliably manufacture complex boards gives the solar team the confidence to push technical boundaries without compromising reliability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
