Many members know him as the CEO of Kendrion 3T and as a board member within FHI. He is also a familiar face at events and trade fairs. In this interview, Michiel shares what drives him, where he sees opportunities for the sector, and why he believes connecting with a new generation of technicians is so important.

Can you briefly introduce yourself to members who don't know you yet?

I am Michiel Bloemen, 55 years old, married to Suzan, and have two sons who live away from home and are studying. I have been working with great pleasure as CEO of Kendrion 3T (formerly 3T) since 2022. I was introduced to the FHI through my predecessor and have been active on the board of the Industrial Electronics sector ever since.

What was the first device you took apart?

The first device I took apart was a TV. I couldn't get the TV to work again, but the capacitors still had a charge. My first lesson in respect for electronics, and a nice shock to boot.

If you could have come up with one technological invention from the past yourself, which would it be?

I think the World Wide Web. Due to this development, people are much more connected to each other, and other technological developments have progressed at an increasingly rapid pace. Because I have a positive outlook, I will leave the downsides unmentioned for now.

What do you want to have achieved for the Industrial Electronics sector in four years?

I would like to see the sectors continue seeking alignment. Great steps have already been taken, and I believe there are even more opportunities here in the coming years.

In addition, it is important that we connect with and maintain a connection with the next generation. How do we get them involved? How do we ensure that young people choose technology? We have a fantastic profession!

My predecessors have done a great deal to increase engagement in our industry, and we have many committed members. Naturally, we must keep it that way. Hopefully, I can contribute my part to this.

Finally: suppose you are allowed to invite one person from history to a members' meeting. Who would join you at the table?

Gordon Moore, co-founder of Intel and the man behind the famous Moore's Law. The number of transistors on a chip doubles approximately every two years. Everything is becoming smaller and smarter. His observation is still a direction for our industry and for humanity.

[501
post-90255","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry

<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.6 -
