Embedded teams can now monitor Zephyr-based systems at runtime, catch anomalies automatically and get a compact trace snapshot or core dump at the exact moment something goes wrong. Logic Technology is a <a href=\"https:\/\/logic.nl\/percepio\/\">Perception partner<\/a>, so you get the tool and the engineering helps to put it to work.<\/p>\n<h3>What is new in Detect 2026.1<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/percepio.com\/detect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Perception Detect<\/a> watches your system while it runs and only captures data when something unusual happens. It does not stream all trace data all the time. As a result, each captured trace snapshot is only a few kilobytes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zephyrproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zephyr<\/a> RTOS support:<\/strong> runtime monitoring, automatic anomaly detection and trace capture for Zephyr, next to the existing FreeRTOS support. Initial validation was done on popular boards from Nordic Semiconductor and STMicroelectronics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TaskMonitor:<\/strong> tracks CPU activity per thread and flags freezes, overloads and timing anomalies that a normal debugger misses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Core dumps:<\/strong> capture a core dump for post-mortem debugging, also on demand through a Detect API call on Arm Cortex-M. That keeps the function call stack available for non-fatal errors and warnings, without waiting for a Zephyr fatal error.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Integrated core dump viewer:<\/strong> inspect the call stack inside Detect, and open the trace snapshot in <a href=\"https:\/\/logic.nl\/tools\/debug-and-trace\/percepio-tracealyzer\/\">Tracealyzer<\/a> for a visual view of kernel events, threads and application logging.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ready for CI\/CT:<\/strong> built for continuous integration and testing pipelines, with a self-service evaluation download and a ready-to-run demo package.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Why this matters for your Zephyr project<\/h3>\n<p>Intermittent faults are the expensive ones. They pass every test, but they do not reproduce on demand and they show up in the field. One Percepio customer ran firmware in continuous integration for weeks with all tests green. However, within hours of enabling Detect, an alert showed that a background communication task occasionally ran far longer than expected. Tracealyzer then showed that clock drift, temperature and I\/O jitter could eventually trigger a watchdog reset.
