X-pedition Safety: a safe workplace in the lab<\/h2><\/div>\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Working safely in the laboratory seems self-evident, but accidents can happen in the blink of an eye. During the X\u2011pedition Safety, you will discover the latest developments and solutions in the field of laboratory safety and learn how to make your workplace even safer. <\/strong><\/p>\n

During this X-pedition, you will visit six stands, each with its own safety question and perspective. By actively participating, you not only expand your knowledge but also work towards a certificate and a small gift at the end of the route. Working safely with hazardous substances in laboratories
\n<\/strong>When it comes to safe and healthy working in a laboratory, we often think of handling hazardous substances. From correct storage and disposal of waste to the use of personal protective equipment and knowledge of laws and regulations, everything needs to be right. As an employer, what do I need to have arranged for employees, emergency response officers, and storage? Unintentional mistakes are sometimes made in this area, which can lead to undesirable and dangerous situations. In the Habeo+ Safety Officer training course, we lay a solid foundation to contribute to a safe work culture within your company regarding all the above-mentioned aspects and more.<\/p>\n

From incubation to contamination \u2013 see what you don't see

Supporting Safe Laboratory Environments
\n<\/strong>Not every application requires the same level of protection. At The Baker Company stand, you can discover how to make the right choice in Biosafety Cabinets. For example, systems with two or three HEPA filters used for safe handling of viruses or the production of cytostatic medicines. European regulations exist for both types of installations, laid down in EN standards. Safety does not end at the installation but remains a continuous process.<\/p>\n

You *think* you work hygienically, but is that really the case?
\n<\/strong>Inspection day! The balance log has been checked, the tip racks are arranged, and the lab is sparkling clean. "It\u2019s just a normal workday," says the team leader. But you still feel nervous. You jump up and open the door with a smile. The inspector holds out his hand, and instinctively, you shake his hand in a friendly manner. Then you follow the silent inspector\u2019s gaze: you are still wearing your gloves. With Giemsa stains! Clean gloves are important for working hygienically. But your behavior is even more important. The X-peditions are available to follow every day of the trade fair week.
