Composites have intrinsic superior properties, like light weight, high strength and stiffness and almost no fatigue. The cost however to produce composite parts is high, which is limiting the application in high volume markets. New developments in automating the production process are addressing this issue. The next development is digital manufacturing, to further reduce cost and accelerate adoption of composites.
