Wynand Alkema is Head of the Fermentation & Health group at NIZO Food Research and staff member of the Chemical Design and Discovery at the Center for Molecular and Biomolecular Informatics at the Radboud University Medical Center. Before joining NIZO he was head of bioinformatics at Organon, later MSD, where he led multiple collaborations with amongst others the Netherlands Bioinformatics Center and the Netherlands Metabolomics Center.
In his talk Wynand will focus on the translation of high dimensional data, including –omics data and literature data, to predictive models that can be used to infer new functions for new compounds, ingredients and micro-organisms.
