The main drawbacks of electric vehicles (EVs) remain the limited driving range and high costs. Both these issues are associated with the technological limitations of batteries. Challenges connected to the electric mobility and possible solutions for charging as well as grid impact are discussed. One way to overcoming these disadvantages is Contactless Power Transfer (CPT) systems that are installed on the road and can power the electric vehicles while they are driving. Sustainable solution can be achieved if the vehicles are charged by energy from solar and wind.
