Wide band gap power semiconductors offer a potential for paradigm shift in power electronics, due to their fast switching, low losses and high operating temperatures. Opportunities for application of GaN and SiC in different applications (lighting, PV, consumer, aerospace etc) and challenges in exploiting the full potential of these devices will be the topic of the talk.
