Challenge of testing Wavelength Division Multiplexing in DWDM & CWDM High Speed Networks

Wavelength Division Multiplexing like CWDM & DWDM are methods for high-speed data transmission to maximize fiber capacity for operators. We will investigate:

  • The benefits of both techniques.
  • Use of the Optical Time Domain Reflector (OTDR) through the Multiplexer and Optical Add Drop Multiplexer (OADM).
  • Use of Optical Spectrum Analyzer to determine physical parameters such as; channel wavelength, power, signal noise and Optical Signal to Noise Ratio (OSNR) including WDM pluggable transceivers.
