More and more embedded applications have high security requirements. In addition topics such as secure boot and protection of intellectual property are important. New CPUs combine powerful applications processors and microcontrollers in a single chip. We will look into advantages and disadvantages of this approach using the example of a Heterogeneous Multicore CPU solution from Freescale.
