Performance and cost optimization of the PCB through using intelligent PCB design

In the PCB Design phase the final performance of the electrical circuitry is determined. Placing of the components, power and signal layers as well as impedance controlled lines do affect the final performance. For the assembly of the PCB the footprints of the components are also an important parameter to control the quality of the assembly process. However there is an additional parameter that impacts both cost and quality: the build/construction of the PCB. Making the right decisions in the PCB design phase can not only save you cost, but also improve the quality and performance of the PCB.
