What does this mean on the shop floor? NIS2 and IEC 62443 set requirements for the security of industrial networks, but how do you translate those into a concrete design for a PROFINET environment? In this session, Simpson Solutions shows how the requirements of the standard play out in practice, based on the classification of PROFINET within IEC 62443 as described in the PI white paper IEC 62443 Introduction (chapter 7).
We look at the difference between an existing (brownfield) installation and a new-build project:
• How do you apply the IEC 62443 requirements to a PROFINET network that is already running, and what limitations do you run into?
• What can you set up properly from the start in a new build?
• What challenges do you face in practice?
You will go home with a clear picture of how IEC 62443 translates to PROFINET environments, and with useful tools for your own installation.
