Guards the heart of your installation: the new Cabinet Guard from Helmholz
The control cabinet is the central nervous system of every industrial installation. This is where power supply, communication, and control come together. That is precisely why it is essential that the conditions in the control cabinet remain under control at all times.
Temperature spikes, moisture, vibrations, or unnoticed door openings can quickly lead to malfunctions, unplanned downtime, or long-term damage to components.
With the new Cabinet Guard, Helmholz offers a compact solution for real-time condition monitoring directly in the control cabinet – as a basis for increased plant availability and predictive maintenance.
Capture critical environmental and state parameters in real time
The Cabinet Guard continuously monitors the key environmental and state parameters in the control cabinet, including:
- Temperature and humidity
- Air pressure
- Movement, position and vibrations
- Door status and access situations
This way, deviations can be detected early, before they lead to malfunctions or downtime.
Transparency and data for modern installation concepts
An important advantage of the Cabinet Guard is the transparent availability of measured state data. Operators and integrators receive a clear overview of the control cabinet status at all times – locally and via higher-level systems.
Integration takes place flexibly via common industrial interfaces:
- Integrated web server for visualization and configuration
- MQTT for IoT and Condition Monitoring platforms
- Modbus TCP for integration into automation environments
In addition, a MicroSD card makes it possible to store measured values and events for long-term analysis.
Alarm and simple configuration
Thanks to integrated Ethernet communication via RJ45 and support for web server, MQTT, and Modbus TCP, the Cabinet Guard integrates seamlessly into existing industrial networks. In the event of an occurrence, alarm messages can be sent immediately – for example, via email or digital outputs – enabling operators to respond quickly.
Setup is simple via a web interface: configure sensors, set limit values, and perform firmware updates – quickly and without additional software. With an operating temperature range of –30 to +70 °C, the Cabinet Guard is also suitable for demanding environments and applications such as retrofit projects, transport monitoring, or access control.
Compact, retrofit-compatible, and easy to integrate
With a width of only 24 mm, the Cabinet Guard is particularly suitable for space-critical applications. The device can be integrated into both new installations and existing systems, thereby supporting the post-processing of Condition Monitoring directly in the control cabinet.
